FTP User Manager
FTP User Manager allows you to both create, and then manage additional users
on your domain. An FTP user will be an additional login, who will have access to
subdirectories associated with your website.
For example: Using FTP User Manager you might choose to create a new user
named thatguy. You may give thatguy access only to yourdomain.com/thatguy/,
or you may allow him to have access to all of your files concerning your website.
The FTP User Account Manager also allows you to set quota for new users.
To access the FTP User Manager, click on the FTP User Manager icon:
Once you have clicked the FTP User Manager icon, the following page will be displayed:
To add a new user, click on Add a New User. The following page will appear:
To add a new user fill in the following fields:
- Username- this is the name that will be used to log in.
- Password- this is the password that will be used to log in.
- Verify Password
- Quota- this is the quota for this user only. The maximum quota allowed is
five (5) mb less than your domain/user quota.
- Starting Home Directory- Defaults to the user name. In this screenshot
the user name is thatguy; therefore, the home directory will be
/home/yourusername/yourdomain-www.thatguy.
(If this is left blank, this FTP user will have access
to yourdomain-www, and any files and/or directories that are associated with it.)
Once you have filled in all of these fields, click on Apply. The following page will appear, confirming that your request has been submitted.
Repeat this process for each User that you wish to add.
